„As a Swiss quartet, we sometimes envy our German and Austrian colleagues their “birthright” - a certain sense of inherited stylistic legitimacy in the interpretation of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven - the cornerstone of our repertoire. I will posit here however that the Carmina does have an interestingly Swiss style - primarily in the Germanic tradition, but integrating French stylistic elements in a uniquely Swiss fashion, such as a signature sound that has the lustrous sheen of a fast bow speed and a lush vibrato.“
